Edom

img_1418_web
Happy Valentine’s Day bee & bean readers. I’m happy to introduce Edom. A totally sold out, soul train loving machine. A special fields specialist in the Marines, Edom specifically works in the camouflage department designing uniforms for all kinds of environments. One day Edom hopes to design for his local playhouse. Edom is a unsuspecting thespian.

Carrot

Introducing Carrot. A traveling businessman, Carrot found himself waking aboard SS Tumbleweed after doing business in Mexico. The last memory Carrot had was counting his pesos while eating a churro on the shore of Ensenada. According to the crew of SS Tumbleweed there was no sightings of Carrot entering the boat, he just appeared on ship one morning wearing only his top hat and bow tie. I blame the churro. A treat that sweet and sugary must be hiding something.

Buckley

Inspired by Jeff Buckley and the need to make something, I sewed up a new Docksider.

His name is Buckley. On the more pensive side, Buckley’s primary duties aboard the SS Tumbleweed are limited to writing woeful sea chanties and giving advice on how to avoid falling in love. Despite his melancholic tendencies, Buckley has an extremely sweet side which he bestows upon his fellow crewmembers.

Jolly Holidays!

I set up my “Christmas Corner” this evening. A Yoshitomo Nara sleepwalker, The Scientist, an old Christmas card from Alexis, candles, my hand-crocheted snowflakes on branches from our plum tree and an old photo of the desert. I haven’t made any dolls as of late, but have been very busy crocheting snowflakes for my loved ones. Being a crochet novice, it took me a few tries to make thread resemble a snowflake!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful, merry, mirthful, happy, friendly, joyous, warm, cozy, snuggly, tasty Christmas!

Happy Holidays

This is a very old Photo Booth image of me and Emily. The holidays are making me think of my loved ones and I just wanted to make a post to share that.

The days have been busy and hectic and I’m in the process of finding a house so that takes up most of my free time. I do however plan on printing tee shirts through TLE and making more dolls for this Christmas. I’m excited about projects and really hoping that the weather starts feeling like autumn because colder weather always makes me want to make stuff.

I am wishing you all a safe and happy holiday next week and stay tuned for more updates!

5 for 5

May I present the delightful Alicia. Sushi lover, Beatles appreciator, and fellow doll creator! In the quest for creativity, Alicia and I conducted “5 for 5″, the first of hopefully many doll trades. Alicia’s creations included (not excluding) a bean, cat, egg, waffle, and mustache! Incredible … yes.

Jenny, Jenny, look what i found! growing strong in ORE-GON. i bet a bird heard the word that i wanted a Toothy Tree of my own. so the bird flown from his home carrying a seed, sown, played his xylophone, then went back to his home. Don’t you just love when the tree’s leaves turn colors in the fall. beautiful.

I woke up at 9am with determination that I’d complete a doll before tonight’s Pumpkin madness. Planning this doll was harder than I had imagined – even after some strategical thinking with Emily. By the time I was done cutting the pieces, it was 9:45. I was thinking, I’m not getting this done today..

But, almost three hours later, my first Toothy Tree is complete. I am also making special tags for these trees as I have a feeling the TT’s will be extremely limited. The sewing was VERY tricky, especially since I’m sewing everything by hand.

Trees grow on concrete right? Well, Toothy Trees can grow anywhere. I realised, since I was sewing these with visible seams, these Trees will actually need a bit of trimming and pruning every now and then from their careful and loving owners. But letting Trees get wild isn’t a bad thing either.

Have a great weekend!

welcome

Bee and Bean updates will now be posted here!
